My Eat Stop Eat Review and My Experiences

In my Eat Stop Eat Review, I will first talk a bit about intermittent fasting, and then I’ll share my personal experience with the Eat Stop Eat Approach.

You already know that intense exercise helps you burn fat. When exercising, your body goes into a state that burns fat for energy.

But did you know that you can get into the same fat burning state without intense exercise?

During an intermittent fast, your body cultivates insulin sensitivity and increases growth hormone (HGH) production, both are very powerful factors that burns fat. In fact, fasting is very similar to intense exercise as they both help your body get into the same metabolic state: To Burn Fat For Energy. Eat Stop Eat is a guide to intermittent fasting. This approach of weight loss helps you maintain muscle and burn fat without restricting the kinds of food you can eat.

Intermittent fasting will not slow down you metabolism or make you lose muscle mass. In order for your metabolism to slow down, you will need to fast for 3 days straight. During an intermittent fast, your metabolism actually speeds up.

All you need to  do is fast once to twice a week for 24 hours to lose weight. This is probably the closest thing to doing nothing and losing weight, you also save money in the process.

My Personal Experience with Eat Stop Eat

Before I started this, I have never fasted a day in my life. I LOVE FOOD. In fact, just the idea of fasting seemed completely absurd to me.

What made me want to try intermittent fasting was the clinical studies that I came across. You will have increased muscle gains from your workouts and more fat loss results from cardio during an intermittent fast. You can read more about this in my Intermittent Fasting To Lose Weight post.

I got the Eat Stop Eat book and it explained everything in further detail, complete with recommendations for greater results. I showed the studies to my friend and got him to join me in experimenting with intermittent fasting. We were going to fast and then workout.

My First Try – Whoops

I’ll be honest here, the first time I tried fasting, it sucked…and I ended up eating lol. That night, I called my friend to ask how he was feeling.

It turned out he was fine, he didn’t even notice the hunger after an hour. He told me how surprised he was at the gym. It was true, he had more strength during the workout and he was able to push himself harder than before.

After I heard this, I knew that I had to give intermittent fasting another try. Next week, I made the same arrangement with my friend (to fast and workout).

My Second Try – Success!

This time, I made it through and had the same experience as him. The hunger faded away and I didn’t even notice. My strength increased noticeably at the gym and I had a phenomenal workout. It was surprising because I had more muscle awareness and I was able to contract my muscles harder. The following day, I could see that I was leaner.

The second time, I did things a little differently. I talked to one of my female friends about my fasting experience. She did intermittent fasting and loves it. As someone experienced in the method, she told me to drink pure water with freshly squeezed lemon juice the next time I was on a fast.

I’m not sure if my body naturally adapted to the fasting on the second try or if it was the lemon water that helped me. But if you are going to start intermittent fasting, I suggest drinking water with freshly squeezed lemon juice on your first try.

In the end, it’s well worth it. With this method, I am able to consistently drop my weekly calorie intake by 10-20%. With the added benefits of having more strength during a fasted workout; getting more results from my workouts and cardio. (And it saves you money on food)

Since then, I have come to love intermittent fasting more and more. It helps me in my weight loss and muscle building and it also helped me gain more control over my hunger.

Before, I craved junk food whenever I was really hungry. Now, it doesn’t bother me anymore and I make the healthy choices effortlessly. I still feel hunger and I still get cravings, but practicing intermittent fasting helps you get in control of that. During fasting days, I also find myself to be more productive. It’s surprising how much more you can get done when you don’t have to worry about food.

In Conclusion

If you’re like me, you might have to give it one or two tries. If you’re like my friend, you will get it right away. Once you have it, it really works.

I have to say, this is probably the simplest way to lose fat without the stress and obsessiveness to ‘eat right’. This method of weight loss is sustainable for the long term, because it is an easy habit that you can maintain. Not to mention that the guide pays for itself many times over in terms of saving money on food.

I highly recommend this book because it’s extremely simple and it just works.
